What is the RSRI CoP?
Our Community of Practice (CoP) is a network of professionals engaged in supporting refugee self-reliance and those who consider themselves advocates for the socio-economic inclusion and self-reliance of refugees through their work.
Members meet bi-monthly for CoP calls to hear updates from the RSRI and other partners and are invited to special events to learn about and enhance refugee self-reliance through data, programming, and advocacy.
The CoP brings together practitioners, researchers, policymakers, and donors who recognize that collective action is necessary to transform the traditional humanitarian response paradigm into a model built on self-reliance.
Together, we aim to respond to the urgency and scale of forced displacement today by cultivating a shared evidence base, developing technical tools and resources, and convening virtually and in person to strengthen collaboration and exchange.

- Enhance your understanding and skills in advancing refugee self-reliance through access to programming and events, including bi-monthly CoP learning calls, virtual coffee hours, focused webinars, and more.
- Engage with a network of professionals and advocates, fostering meaningful connections, mutual support, and knowledge exchange.
- Collaborate with others involved in CoP sub-groups, including our Market Systems Development Technical Working Group (MSD TWG), Climate Risks and Self-Reliance Technical Working Group (Climate TWG), and Research CoP.
- Share specific challenges and approaches related to advancing self-reliance as a Refugee-Led Organization (RLO) or Community-Based Organization (CBO).
- Make asks or offers by sharing job postings, training courses, calls for proposals, research projects, event invitations, funding resources, collaboration opportunities, and more.
- Access Self-Reliance Index (SRI) resources and support as an SRI measurement tool user.
